State Representative District-54 Topics/Issues
This is a personally managed webpage that allows me to post information related to my activities as the representative for the great people of District-54 ...Central & Lower Lafourche Parish AND (the jewel of Jefferson Parish) Grand Isle, Louisiana.
Introduction
Following the COVID-19 pandemic and the tragic loss of our duly-elected
state representative, I opted to run in the special election and get
into politics to provide citizen-representation for my home-town area
that cherish. It is an honor and pleasure to serve my fellow
'down-da-bayou' citizens as their representative in Baton Rouge.
Here is a link to my official profile page on the State Legislative Website.
Now in my second term, I chose to serve on the same three committees as my first term:
- Natural Resources and Environment -- (Vice-Chair) This committe deals with all of our great states natural resources like hunting, fishing, oil&gas, land-use, coastal resotration...etc.
- Ways & Means -- Overseeing all of our states tax and revenue policy. This will be a very busy committee for the remainder of 2024 and into the 2025 (Fiscal) Regular Session.
- Judiciary -- Policies dealing with the courts, judges, alcohol, tobacco and the 'catch-all' committee for all other miscellaneous matters not covered by other standing committees.
Topics Of Interest & Links To Dedicated Pages
Although there are lots of topics affecting our area, as of today these are the topics that I have had time to create a dedicated page for:
- Clean Hydrogen Task Force --
Keeping Louisiana on the forefront of the All Of The Above
Energy Space. We already produce alot of hydrogen,
and we don't want the rest of the world to pass us up.
-
Constitutional Amendment #1 on the Tuesday, November 5th 2024 Ballot
-- This will be the ONLY amendment
on the ballot for Louisiana citizens to consider on the ballot.
In Louisiana, we already dedicate 100% of our federally-recieved
revenue from offshore oil & gas activities towards
fulfilling our coastal-restoration master-plan.
A YES vote for this amendment will assure a 100% dedication of ANY OTHER offshore energy revenue (e.g. wind, wave, tidal, current, solar, geothermal...etc. All-Of-The-Above) if and when they come online.- Terrebonne Parish Resolution of Support -- September 26, 2024
